Job Summary:

The IT Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing all IT and digital systems across the Blue Angels Air ATO. This includes simulator IT infrastructure, networks, training management systems (TMS), LMS/CBT platforms, VR labs, eye-tracking integration, classroom technologies, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications. The IT Manager ensures high availability, security, and scalability of IT systems to support uninterrupted training operations and compliance with DGCA and international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. IT Infrastructure & Network Management
  • Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of data networks, firewalls, servers, and data storage.
  • Ensure stable IT connectivity for simulators, briefing rooms, and classrooms.
  • Manage firewall, VPN, and remote access systems with strong cybersecurity measures.
  • Planning & installation of IT hardware/software across the training centre
  1. Simulator & Training Systems Support
  • Work closely with the Head of Maintenance and Simulator Engineers on simulator-related IT integration.
  • Support ASTROM TMS, CBT systems, LMS and digital debriefing platforms, ensuring smooth operation and upgrades.
  • Provide technical support for flight planning, briefing/debriefing stations, and training devices.
  • Coordinate integration and support of Eye-Tracking, AI Debrief tools, and VR systems.
  1. Cybersecurity & Compliance
  • Establish and monitor cybersecurity protocols, aligned with DGCA and ISO 27001 standards.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (DGCA, Indian IT Act, GDPR if international users) and digital infrastructure readiness.
  • Regularly conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
  • Lead software license compliance, asset tracking, and version control.
  1. Digital Transformation & Innovation
  • Drive the ATO’s digitalisation initiatives (cloud adoption, AI/VR/AR learning tools, e-learning platforms).
  • Serve as IT point of contact during simulator certification audits.
  • Lead IT input in greenfield simulator installations, expansions, and technology upgrades.
  • Implement redundancy and disaster recovery systems for mission-critical IT.
  1. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Manage IT vendor contracts (hardware, software, licenses, AMC).
  • Coordinate with global suppliers (SIM International, Airbus, ASTROM, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.).
  • Ensure SLA compliance with all IT service providers.
  1. Team Leadership & Support
  • Lead and mentor IT engineers/technicians.
  • Provide user training and support for IT systems to staff and instructors.
  • Establish 24/7 IT support coverage for simulator and training operations.
  • Lead IT support response for staff, faculty, instructors, and engineers.

Required Qualifications:

Mandatory:
    • Bachelor’s /Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, or related discipline.
    • 8–10 years’ experience in IT management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
    • Strong knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, and systems administration, simulator network architecture, VR/LMS/CBT platforms, and enterprise firewalls.
    • Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux servers, VMware, Cisco, Microsoft 365, and cloud solutions.
    • Experience with Active Directory and network security.
Preferred:
    • Experience in aviation training centres, simulators, or airline IT systems.
    • Exposure to ASTROM TMS, LMS, and CBT platforms.
    • Certifications: Cisco (CCNP/CCIE), Microsoft (Azure/365), ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, ITIL.
    • Familiarity with DGCA data audit and retention practices.
